Take it to the track. That’s my advice to all those, mostly young drivers, you hear about on the evening television news getting caught for speeding or engaging in other forms of ‘enthusiastic’ driving on public roads.

The fantastic Adelaide Motorsport Festival turned out to be the perfect way to unwind after a long, hard and at times frustrating year.

It was great to have this awesome VZ SS commodore racing car at our Pakenham store today, thanks to Beat The Heat Victoria. Beat the Heat Victoria is run by off duty police to promote legal off street drag racing. This great initiative helps to break down barriers between young drivers and police.

The importance of having tyres with decent tread depth has certainly been underlined to me over the past two Supercar race weekends. As you already know, this year’s Bathurst 1000 was the wettest in living memory – possibly ever – and then, amazingly, the same thing happened just two weeks later at the Gold Coast 600!

Bathurst 2017 was certainly not the sort of day we were looking for this year. If you saw it, you will know that the race was held in atrocious conditions … after three days of dry running during practice and qualifying, raceday dawned very cool and sure enough, just as the formalities on the grid finished, the rain started. Bathurst is always about strategy but the arrival of rain mean that the teams up and down pit lane had to reassess their starting driver and game plan when the race was declared ‘full wet’ for the start.

On Thursday 28th September Tyrepower Pakenham participated in Kumho Tyre’s Pink Fitter’s day to support the McGrath Foundation. The whole team showed their support for breast cancer awareness by wearing the iconic Kumho pink shirts.

Team Toyo driver Danny Brown and navigator George Apted are 2017 ARB Australian Off-Road Racing Series champions. Racing on Toyo Open Country M/T-R, Brown and Apted claimed third outright at the Pines Enduro, winning the pair outright championship honours in Australia’s premier off-road racing series. The team dominated the six-race championship season with only a single change of tyres.
